Robert F. Lunney Library

The Edmonton Police Service Department Reference Library was established in 1979 to assemble, preserve, and administer a centrally organized collection of specialized books, documents, reports, and related materials, both print and non-print, in order to support Edmonton Police Service activities and to serve as a centre of reliable information. In 2007, the library's name changed to Robert F. Lunney Library.

The Library responds to the information needs of:

  • The Edmonton Police Serivce
  • Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice Agencies
  • City of Edmonton Department Personnel (through the InterLibrary Loan)
  • Special/Public Libraries

With the exception of restricted access to MacEwan and University of Alberta students, the public has limited access to the Robert F. Lunney Library.

Student Guidelines:

  • Students are required to make appointments. The Library is open for students Tuesday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. by appointment only.
  • Students may borrow two books for a loan period of one week (no exceptions, no renewals).
  • Videos are not available to students.
  • Photocopying is available.
