Community Initiatives
In the next six months, it is the goal of District D2 management team to actively work on identifying hot spot areas and subjects frequently involved with the top three Crime Indicators for D2 - Assaults, Personal Robberies and Theft from Vehicles - all of which are mainly fuelled by the use and sale of drugs.
This data will be compiled with the assistance of information obtained from calls for service, intelligence brought forward by patrol members, our divisional analysts, and information obtained from community members. At the end of these six months, initiatives and projects will be created to enable officers to deal more effectively with these issues.
D2 officers will continue to work with multiple outside agencies such as the Public Safety Compliance Team, SCAN, and Capital Health, as well as some of our internal EPS areas, such as Drug Unit and Gang Unit to help us address these community concerns. Upcoming events also include a Crime Prevention/Education Fair in the spring, to educate community members on how to get more involved and assist in dealing with crime and disorder within the district.
District D2 officers look forward to working with communities in an effort to make them safe places to live and play.
