The boundaries for District D4 are as follows:
- 97 Street to 121 Street
- 105 Ave to the Yellowhead Trail (with the exception of 97 St to 101 St and 105 Ave to 111 Ave, which falls into District 2’s boundaries)
District 4 is situated on the northwest corner of Downtown Division. It is comprised of six communities including Central McDougall, Queen Mary Park, Spruce Avenue, Prince Rupert, Westwood, and the Edmonton Municipal Airport. The communities in District D4 are comprised of many different ethnic backgrounds. It is rich with culture but also has a number of issues. In 2011, the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) will be employing several new strategies to combat criminal activity.

Community Initiatives
In 2009, the EPS saw some crime trends in District 4 (D4). Taking the statistical information from last year, the EPS is focusing efforts for reductions in those areas and as a result D4 has seen a drop in all the crime indicators with approximately 200 fewer reported events year to date.
The EPS will be focusing efforts on property related crimes such as Theft from Auto, Theft of Auto and Break and Enters. We will be relying on several areas of the front line (including Patrol, Beats, and Special Projects Team) and the Community to reduce these occurrences.
In addition, the problems related to social disorder have remained virtually unchanged from 2008 to 2009. Drugs and alcohol are significant factors that increase disorder problems leading to violence, including assaults and robberies. The EPS will be running several projects to combat these issues throughout the year.
One of the highlights of 2009 saw the D4 Beat officer program boosted from two to five members with the promise of more resources being assigned in early 2010.
The EPS will be working closely with the community, outside agencies, and other partners to combat current and emerging problems. District D4 police members will be attending several community meetings to meet partners and discuss citizen concerns. The EPS will take an active role in assisting with the development of volunteer groups and citizen action groups.
District D4 officers are looking forward to further success and a safe and secure 2010.
