Community Initiatives
Predominant crime types for this district include theft from vehicle, theft of vehicle, and break & enter.
In 2009, the District C2 Community Sergeant, James MACDONALD, and Community Liaison Constable, Gerald JORGENSON, introduced crime prevention campaigns to stakeholders within the district, such as “All Valuables Removed” to address theft from vehicles, and “If You Don’t Get It, They Will” to address theft from vehicles and break and enters.
Furthermore, Sgt. MACDONALD and Cst. JORGENSON; in collaboration with community leagues, businesses, individuals, groups, and associations; have identified ongoing issues of concern and endeavoured to achieve the common goal of resolving them.
With the coordinated efforts of the above groups and the EPS patrol members who proactively police the communities, District C2 has seen a year-to-date reduction of 16.6 per cent in the eight crime indicators in 2010.
District C2 officers look forward to working with you in the coming months and achieving continued crime reduction success in 2010.
