Community Initiatives
Currently assigned to District C4 are Community Sergeant LANGLEY and Community Liaison Constable GETZINGER. They are assisted by patrol members assigned to the district who work there on a regular basis. Since these officers are assigned to this specific district, there is greater accountability for having knowledge and understanding of the unique issues that affect the communities. There is also more opportunity for the members to proactively address district-specific issues.
District C4 experiences property-related crime such as residential break and enter, theft of vehicle and theft from vehicle. These crimes can be hard on people, leaving them feeling victimized and unsafe. They are not only costly to the individual themselves, but also to insurance agencies. The Edmonton Police Service feels there is a lot that people can do from a prevention perspective, with little effort or cost, to help reduce these crimes.
Should you find yourself wanting to do more by being an active part of the community, become involved in community programs such as the Edmonton Neighbourhood Watch or click on the following link to become a volunteer with the Speed Watch Program, Speed Watch - Southwest Division.
District C4 officers look forward to working with you in the coming months and achieving continued crime reduction success in the remainder of 2010.
