District A2 encompasses nine communities. It is also bordered by Districts A1 and A3 as well as Downtown Division, which means that officers from those areas may also respond to your area when serious events occur.
Consisting of predominantly residential communities, District A2 also has a concentration of commercial premises along 124 Street, 118 Avenue, as well as Westmount Mall. To address each stakeholder’s needs, these establishments require a unique or target specific approach to policing and crime prevention.

Community Initiatives
West Division District A2 is served primarily by patrol officers supported by two foot patrol (beat officers) on 124 Street and area, as well as a community sergeant and community liaison constable. In an effort to address the unique needs of district residents and stakeholders, these members are specifically dedicated to the geographic area encompassing the district. This enables them to take ownership of community problems, and have the day-to-day familiarity with “the word on the street” and greater knowledge of what is happening in your community. Additional “walk-in” police service is available in your district at the Westmount Community Police Station at 13326 – 114 Avenue, which is staffed by an officer and volunteers from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily (10.00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday).
The community team serving District A2, has responded to community needs by assigning specific patrols to areas sustaining crime trends/patterns, initiating prostitution enforcement, working on special projects to apprehend persons responsible for a number of Theft From Autos, and Break and Enters.
