RCMP Fingerprint Fees: Digital fingerprints taken and submitted to the RCMP may require an additional $25.00 processing fee collected on behalf of the Receiver General for Canada.

Vulnerable Sector Fingerprint Fees: The Edmonton Police Service does not charge its fee for fingerprints taken as a part of the vulnerable sector screening done in conjunction with a Police Information Check. However, a fee of $25 is collected on behalf of the Receiver General for Canada for the RCMP to complete the screening for any purpose other than volunteering.

Digital and Ink Fingerprinting Services:

The Police Information Check Section provides digital and ink fingerprinting services.

Digital fingerprints are available if you require a Criminal Record Check from Canada for any purpose. Digital fingerprints can only be transmitted to the RCMP and cannot be sent to agencies outside of Canada for processing. Some digital fingerprint transaction types will require that a photo be taken in our office.

Ink fingerprints are used almost exclusively for individuals who require a criminal record check from a foreign country. To verify if you require fingerprints to get a criminal record check from a foreign country as part of your immigration application please visit the Government of Canada’s website.

If a police check is required from another country, please ensure you attend the Police Information Check Section location with all of the necessary forms, identification, photos, and fingerprint cards (if applicable). If you attend our office with a fingerprint card that has a space for a photo, please ensure you bring a recent photo of the appropriate size with you.

Fingerprint Quality:

The quality of the fingerprint image is affected by the condition of your skin. Dry, damaged skin may produce inferior and sometimes unusable fingerprints. It is recommended to use proper moisturizing cream for up to four days prior to being fingerprinted to ensure you receive the best quality fingerprints possible.
