Security Guards, Private Investigator and Master Key Locksmith Licenses

Security Guards must attend Police Information Check Section located at Police Headquarters.

The Solicitor General requires current immigration papers be attached to license application for those who were not born in Canada. As an extension of this policy, we require original and current immigration I.D. be shown at the time of Security Guard, P.I. and Locksmith’s appointments for non-Canadian born applicants - no exceptions.

If you are currently working for one company and are switching to work for another company, you do not need to be processed again.  Your current employer and  the Solicitor General’s office has information on switching companies.
