If your volunteer Agency wants a Police Information Check, but is not registered with Edmonton Police Service, then you may apply for a regular police check. The fee is $30.00. and forms are available at Police Information Check Section during normal business hours. Payment will be taken by our office at the time the police check is submitted.
All Volunteer agencies have our forms available. Standard processing time is 2 to 4 weeks; however times may vary according to work load. The Edmonton Police Service does not provide copies of Police Information Checks, you will receive one original copy. This Volunteer check cannot be used for employment purposes. All applicants must follow the procedure in place for the Registered Volunteer Agency otherwise they will be charged $30.00 or sent back to the agency for proper instruction.
Volunteering with Registered Agencies
Volunteers, please contact your agency or organization for Police Information Checks. Unfortunately, our office cannot accept applications directly from the applicant. Instructions will be provided by your agency’s volunteer co-coordinator.
The fees for obtaining a Volunteer Police Information Check through a registered volunteer agency is $15.00 per application. The volunteer/program coordinator will contact our office to speak with the Volunteer Liaison. A registration package will be mailed for review and completion. Any volunteer agency located within the Province of Alberta may register with the Edmonton Police Service however, agencies outside of Alberta are unable to register with our service.
Prepaid stickers can be purchased in person at the Police Information Check Section during normal business hours. Prepaid stickers cannot be purchased over the phone using credit cards or through mail or fax requests.
An applicant cannot apply for a Volunteer Police Information Check themselves and receive the reduced $15.00 fee. The applicant must follow the procedure in place for the Registered Volunteer Agency otherwise they will be charged $30.00 or sent back to the agency for proper instruction.
