The Homicide Section is committed to solving all cases; however there are some cases that remain unsolved. These cases are considered to be still open and we appeal to the public to provide any information that they have in these matters. The cases listed are only some of the unsolved homicide cases. All homicides are listed in reverse chronological order.

On September 21, 1986 Melodie Riegel was found deceased inside unit #320 of the Pan American Motel, formerly located at 10630 Kingsway Ave.

Charlotte Baas

DOB/Age: 18
EPS File #:83-190873
On December 18, 1983, Charlotte died from smoke inhalation.


DOB/Age: 13

On August 16, 1983, the body of a badly decomposed female was found in a field south of Manning Freeway directly across from the Edmonton Maximum Security Prison.


DOB/Age: 21
EPS File #:83-177335
SPARROW’s body was found in the parkade at 9903 104St. He had been stabbed numerous times and died as a result.
