The next class will take place in fall 2010. The Citizens’ Police Academy (CPA) is an exclusive opportunity for individuals with professional or personal interest in community policing to acquire knowledge on police issues, practices and operations in the City of Edmonton.

When you participate in CPA, you will:

Requirements to attend:
- Undergo a criminal background check
- Able to attend 9 of the 12 classes
- Employed or a Volunteer of an community group, agency, organization or society which works in partnership with the EPS

Topics covered:
Over the course of 13 weeks, your class will cover many aspects of the police service, with a strong emphasis on community policing. Through interactive, hands on learning, practical demonstrations, real life scenarios and case studies, you will cover topics including:

- A Day in the Life of a Police Officer
- Community Policing
- Crime Scene Investigation
