Citizens' Police Academy

Registrations for the Spring, 2012 class will begin in December, 2011. 

The Citizens’ Police Academy (CPA) is an exclusive opportunity for individuals with professional or personal interest in community policing to acquire knowledge on police issues, practices and operations in the City of Edmonton with a desire of applying course materials to community policing issues and ability to pass information on to community stakeholders.

Target Community:  West Edmonton

While priority will be given to those who reside within the EPS Divisional boundaries of West Edmonton, applications will be accepted by those outside the geographical boundaries based upon the level of community involvement and/or organizational affiliation. (i.e. EFCL/ENW)

Dates: Tuesday evenings from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm, March 20 - June 12, 2012.

Requirements to attend:

  • 18 years or older
  • Undergo a Police Information Check
  • Able to attend 9 of the 12 classes
  • Employed or a Volunteer of a community group, agency, organization or society which works in partnership with the EPS
