Man and woman charged in relation to bus shelter mischief spree; over 40 charges laid

The Edmonton Police Service Northeast Division has laid charges in relation to a spree of mischiefs on bus shelters which took place over the course of February.

A total of 70 bus shelter window panes were destroyed from the period of Thursday, Feb. 18 to Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016 and on Friday, Feb. 26, 2016. Northeast Division received reports of 63 vandalized bus shelters, four in Southwest Division, two in Southeast Division and one in West Division.

On Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, 49 charges were laid against the following two individuals:

Cynthia Elizabeth Zambrano, 38, is charged with mischief under $5,000 (x21), mischief over $5,000 (x2), possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and causing a child to be in need of intervention.

Leonardo Antonio Autera, 55, is charged with mischief under $5,000 (x21), mischief over $5,000 (x2) and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Both are expected to appear in court on March 4, 2016.
