EPS continue to investigate early morning fatal collision

The Edmonton Police Service Major Collision Investigation Unit continues to investigate the fatal collision that occurred early this morning, Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017.

Just before 6:15 a.m., a Plymouth Acclaim was travelling northbound on Manning Drive when it struck a westbound Chrysler Intrepid that was travelling westbound on 17 Street NE. The investigation revealed that the Chrysler allegedly failed to stop at a marked stop sign and was struck by the northbound Plymouth.  


The 46-year-old male driver of the Plymouth sustained non-life threatening injuries. 


EMS treated and transported the 24-year-old male driver and 19-year-old male front passenger of the Chrysler to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The 20-year-old female rear passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced deceased at the scene. 


Charges are pending against the driver of the Chrysler.  


Roadways that were impacted by the collision are now open. The investigation continues.
