The EPS is investigating a collision involving a truck and a pedestrian that occurred this morning in northwest Edmonton.

Northwest Division patrol members responded to an intersection at 118 Avenue and 85 Street at approximately 6:15 a.m. today, Monday, December 10, 2018, after receiving a 911 call regarding a collision between a pedestrian and a truck.

It was reported to police that a female pedestrian was struck by a Dodge Ram 3500, which was travelling westbound on 118 Avenue. A 32-year-old woman is alleged to have stepped off the curb, when she was struck by the truck being driven by a 48-year-old male.

The woman had reportedly been standing on the northeast corner of 118 Avenue and 85 Street, where she was attempting to cross the street southbound when she was struck.

It is also believed the pedestrian was attempting to cross the street against the light, when she was struck by the oncoming truck.

The female pedestrian was treated and transported to hospital with serious injuries. Major Collision Investigations Section has since taken over the investigation.
