Autopsy results confirm latest deaths as homicides

The Edmonton Medical Examiner conducted autopsies today in connection to the deaths of two individuals found within a Southwest neighbourhood home yesterday.

Both Irfan Ahmed Qureshi, 37, and Suzanne Marie Tran, 27, of Edmonton died as a result of gunshot wounds. Homicide Section has determined the manner of death as being homicide. 

These investigations are listed as the 7th and 8th Homicide-related deaths of 2016.

Background –

On Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at approximately 2 p.m., police were dispatched to a suspicious deaths occurrence at a residence in the area of 49 Avenue and 213 Street.

Due to the initial observations on scene by Southwest Division patrol officers, the Homicide Section was called out to take over the investigation.
