More than $250,000-worth of cocaine seized

West Division patrol officers have charged a 22-year old man in connection with the seizure of more than $250,000-worth of cocaine.

Tommy Tran has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, proceeds of crime and three counts of breach of recognizance.

On July 20, 2010 officers responded to the area of Cutts Court (135 Street amd 155 Avenue) on a report of a several gun shots being heard in the area. Upon further investigation police were able to locate a vehicle parked at the front of the address with a number of bullet holes in its front. To ensure there were no victims as a result of the shooting officers entered the residence. While searching the residence a number of items were observed which lead police to believe that drugs were being kept inside the home.

A search warrant was obtained and more than five kilograms of cocaine, approximately $11,000 in cash, packaging materials, scales, and cell phones were seized from the residence.

"This was a very lengthy and involved investigation and we are very pleased with the result," says Staff Sgt. Blair Edl of West Division. "The effort of the investigating officers has had a positive result, that will have a significant impact on the community."
