How To Request Information

A member of the public may obtain records from the Edmonton Police Service by making requests to either the Correspondence Unit or to the FOIPP Unit.

EPS Correspondence Unit

The EPS Correspondence Unit is responsible for answering correspondence and enquiries about operational files received from the public and other agencies.

If you would like to obtain copies of EPS case files in which you are named, you may contact the Correspondence Unit. There is a fee of $31.50 for each case file or report requested. The payment can be made by cheque or money order made payable to the City of Edmonton. You may pay by cash, debit card or credit card if you attend at police headquarters.

The Correspondence Unit also provides routine access to records such as collision reports for a fee of $31.50. Depending on the type of collision, records relating to the collision investigation may also be available. Any such records and associated costs will be identified upon receipt of your request.
