Derelict Housing

Drug houses and misused properties are a major source of trouble in Edmonton neighbourhoods. The criminals who frequent these locations often commit their crimes in the same area. Even if you don’t live next door to a 'problem address' you could still become the victim of one.

As a concerned citizen aware of what is going on in your community, you can help the police by recording and reporting suspicious activities. The Derelict Housing Unit, in partnership with the Report A Drug House program, allows community members to report suspected drug and disorder houses.

Once police verify the confidential information you provide, they will act to remove the occupants and prevent the address from being used for illegal activities. The police work in partnership with other municipal agencies to seek permanent solutions that allow a community to return to normal.

Landlords and tenants often take serious disputes to court for resolution by a judge. The Residential Tenancy Dispute Resolution Service is designed to resolve landlord and tenant disputes more quickly, with less formality and at a lower cost.
