The Guilt Is Forever

One would think that by now most people would be educated enough to know the dangers of getting behind the wheel of a vehicle after they have been drinking. But that is simply not the case.

In an attempt to address this, the Edmonton Police Service created the TGIF or The Guilt is Forever Program back in 2006. Its aim, to get people to think about the potential consequences of driving after they have been drinking. Decisions which are best made when judgment is not clouded by alcohol.

The only safe amount of alcohol is no alcohol. If you do choose to drink, do so responsibly:

  • Have a designated driver,
  • Take a cab or a bus
  • Arrange for a ride ahead of time with a friend or family member

Both the Edmonton Eskimos and the Edmonton Oilers have thrown their support behind the TGIF program.
