The new Northwest Branch Station opened at the Northwest Campus police facility on March 1, 2021, and will help EPS better serve the citizens in our growing city.
Comprised of approximately 59 different neighbourhoods and industrial areas, Northwest Branch is committed to assisting with a diverse spectrum of community needs. We embrace the rich history and tradition that form the fabric of our communities and we remain committed to being an innovative leader in policing in the City of Edmonton.
The approximate boundaries of Edmonton's Northwest Branch are north of 118 Avenue and west of 97 Street to the city limits, although, we also encompass the area between 111 Avenue and 127 Avenue from 121 Street east to the LRT tracks by Commonwealth Stadium.
The officers of Northwest Branch strive to exemplify the Edmonton Police Service's Mission Statement: to increase public safety through excellence in the prevention, intervention and suppression of crime and disorder.
Northwest Branch will achieve this goal by:
Establishing partnerships with area residents and businesses
Developing innovative strategies to tackle issues unique to Northwest Branch using a multitude of approaches including:
maintaining a strong visible police presence
responding to calls for service and the concerns of stakeholders
implementing problem solving initiatives to ensure our community remains a safe and enjoyable place for all
Developing a Crime Management Team to closely monitor and track crime trends to effectively deploy resources
Generating and sharing intelligence to remain progressive in addressing crime and disorder.
Northwest Branch's Event Participation
Members of Northwest Branch embrace opportunities to work with the community and are proud to participate in countless events every year from ongoing monthly forums at a local coffee shop to community league meetings and assisting with events organized by multiple social agencies.
Tips for citizens residing in Northwest Branch
We encourage the people of Northwest Branch to be proactive in their communities and report crime and suspicious activity to police. We continue to welcome feedback from any citizen, business or agency with a vested interested in Northwest Division.
