Hai Van TRAN https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/HaiVanTRAN On August 18th, 1999 at approximately 7:30 p.m. Hai Van TRAN was driving east on 97 Avenue when he stopped for a red light at 103 Street. <p><span>A red coloured vehicle pulled up beside and a passenger began shooting, hitting TRAN.</span></p> <p><span>TRAN was known to be involved in gang and drug activity and it is believed that his killing was related to a violent war over the cocaine trade in Edmonton.</span></p> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT Justin FRANKO https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/JustinFRANKO On March 14, 1999 at approximately 2:30 a.m. Justin FRANKO was involved in an altercation with a large group of people outside of a karaoke bar. <span>When police arrived, Justin was found injured after being stabbed in the back.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT Carlos MEJIA https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/CarlosMejia On January 11, 1999, Carlos MEJIA was found lying on the floor of his bedroom in his residence near 133 Ave and 47 St. The cause of death was multiple stab wounds. <em>There is a reward&nbsp;of up to $40,000 for information leading to the arrest&nbsp;of&nbsp;the person(s) responsible for this homicide.</em> ]]> 08 Apr 2008 18:00:00 UT Infant John DOE https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/InfantJohnDOE At approximately 9:20 a.m. police were summoned to the rear of an apartment building at 156 Street and 103 Avenue for a report of an infant being disposed of in the garbage bin at that location. <p><span>Police located the body of a newborn boy in the dumpster.</span></p> <p><span>A witness informed police that he observed a female in her late teens to mid 20s, 5&rsquo;2&rdquo; tall with a slim build and shoulder length dark hair place a green plastic garbage bag in the dumpster and leave the area.&nbsp; The female was wearing a dark &frac34; length jacket and grey ankle length tights.&nbsp; She left the area driving a small, clean, and medium sized blue car.</span></p> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT Daniel OCHUSCHAYOO https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/DanielOCHUSCHAYOO On December 6th, 1998, an explosion occurred within the Lodge Hotel, at #23, 9662 Jasper Avenue. <p><span>Daniel OCHUSCHAYOO was killed in the blast and his female roommate was injured.&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span>Investigations showed that the blast was a result of criminal activity and Daniel&rsquo;s death was ruled a homicide.</span></p> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT KREUTZ Wayne https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/KREUTZWayne On Oct 31, 1998, Wayne was fatally shot. <p>Wayne was fatally shot outside of his business.</p> <p><em>There is a reward&nbsp;of up to $40,000 for information leading to the arrest&nbsp;of&nbsp;the person(s) responsible for this homicide.</em> </p> ]]> 15 Oct 2014 15:53:00 UT KOPF Lisa https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/KOPFLisa Lisa, who also went by the name of Monika Wiley, was found on August 05, 1998. <p>Lisa was discovered partially submerged in the mud and water of a slough.</p> <p><em>There is a reward&nbsp;of up to $40,000 for information leading to the arrest&nbsp;of&nbsp;the person(s) responsible for this homicide.</em> </p> ]]> 15 Oct 2014 15:51:00 UT Devinder PUREWAL https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/DevinderPUREWAL On July 28, 1998, Devinder PUREWAL was at home when she started feeling ill. <span>After some time at home and getting worse, Devinder attended the hospital where her health deteriorated.&nbsp; Devinder died a short time later.</span> <p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt 99.25pt;"><span>&nbsp;</span></p> <span>An autopsy was conducted and toxicology reports led investigators to believe Devinder&rsquo;s death was a homicide</span>. ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT MIDDLETON Izaac/Adam https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/MIDDLETONIzaac On September 18, 1997, Izaac was fatally stabbed. <p>Izaac and&nbsp;two friends were approached outside the Thunder Dome Nightclub by 10-15 males. The results of her autopsy showed she was strangled to death.</span></p> <p><span>Jessica was involved in drugs and prostitution and it is believed that these activities played a part in her death.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT Terrance LOGAN https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/TerranceLOGAN At approximately 3:15 a.m. on the morning of May 17, 1996, a Coop cab driver located two men who appeared to be in distress. <p><span>Police were alerted and ambulance crews arrived on scene.&nbsp; Both men were transported to hospital, suffering from stab wounds to the upper body.&nbsp; Terrance LOGAN died a few hours later of his injuries.</span></p> <p><span>Terrance was wearing a very unusual and identifiable leather jacket just prior to the time of the attack, and it was not located on him when he was taken to hospital.&nbsp; It is believed to have been stolen by the attackers.&nbsp; The jacket was described as a multi-coloured, waist length leather jacket with a large sun across the back.&nbsp;</span></p> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT Khang Van NGUYEN https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/KhangVanNGUYEN On August 29, 1995, witnesses observed a body lying in the back of a vehicle parked in the area of 143 Avenue and 51 Street. <p><span>Police and paramedics were called and the male was declared deceased.&nbsp; Investigations revealed the identity of the male as Khang NGUYEN.</span></p> <p><span>NGUYEN was known to be involved in the drug trade and it is believed that his murder was related to drug activities.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT Greggor HARRISON https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/GreggorHARRISON In March, 1995, the body of Greg HARRISON was found rolled in a carpet on the outskirts of Edmonton. <p><span>The autopsy showed he had been smothered.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span>Greg owned a late 60&rsquo;s or early 70&rsquo;s model Ford Bronco, black in colour.&nbsp; The vehicle had the rear wheel wells cut out to accommodate wide tires.&nbsp; Greg worked on this vehicle in the Stettler and Red Deer areas.&nbsp; Police are looking for anyone that knew Greg or would have observed him acquiring parts for this vehicle.</span></p> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT Grant CUNNINGHAM https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/GrantCUNNINGHAM At approximately 2:00 a.m. on March 2, 1995, a fire was deliberately set in the residence of 4015-77 Street during a house party. <p><span>There were approximately 50 people inside the house.&nbsp; When the fire was extinguished, fire fighters found the body of Grant CUNNINGHAM.&nbsp; Autopsy results showed that Grant died of smoke inhalation.</span></p> <p><span>Despite interviews being conducted with multiple people who were at the residence at the time of the fire, no admissions of guilt were made, and no charges were laid.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT Darren MCKEE https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/DarrenMCKEE On October 31, 1994, around 12:30 a.m. Darren MCKEE left a motel and got into his Ford Bronco when a lone gunman approached and shot Darren, who subsequently died of his wounds. <p><span>Witnesses described the gunman as a male who entered a newer model grey coloured vehicle and departed the scene rapidly.</span></p> <p><span>MCKEE was a known drug dealer, having been convicted of drug trafficking on two occasions.&nbsp; It is believed that his murder was related to drug trafficking activity.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT Ronald MARCH https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/RonaldMARCH On October 30, 1994 at approximately 5:00 a.m. a fire broke out at the residence of 9532 106 A Avenue. <p><span>The body of a deceased male was located after the fire was extinguished.&nbsp; An autopsy revealed the identity to be that of Ronald MARCH.&nbsp; He died of smoke inhalation.</span></p> <p><span>Investigations into the cause of the fire determined that it was deliberately set and that Ronald&rsquo;s death was a homicide due to the arson.&nbsp; To date, no one has been held accountable for the homicide.</span></p> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT BROWN Avion/Roy https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/BROWNAvion In July of 1994, Avion Brown was fatally shot. <p>Avion&nbsp;was found in his vehicle hunched over in the driver seat.&nbsp;The victim had a gunshot wound to the right cheek and a second wound to his&nbsp;left temple.</p> <p><em>There is a reward&nbsp;of up to $40,000 for information leading to the arrest&nbsp;of&nbsp;the person(s) responsible for this homicide.</em> </p> ]]> 15 Oct 2014 15:38:00 UT Keith AUBREY https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/KeithAUBREY On May 20, 1993, Police received a call of a male in medical distress. <p><span>When paramedics arrived, they found Keith AUBREY and believed he was suffering from cardiac arrest.&nbsp; While performing treatment, paramedics found what appeared to be a bullet wound.&nbsp;Keith was transported to hospital and a bullet wound was discovered in his abdomen.&nbsp; He died shortly after arrival.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span>Keith was a known drug dealer and it is believed his death was drug related.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT Yong Joon JOO https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/YongJoonJOO On May 2, 1993 at approximately 1145 p.m. an armed robbery occurred at City Lights Restaurant, 5241 Calgary Trail. <span>During the robbery, Yong JOO was shot and subsequently died from his injuries.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT Leonard GLADUE https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/LeonardGLADUE On May 1, 1993 at approximately 2:00 a.m. Leonard GLADUE was staying with wife and kids in an apartment at 9740 – 82 Avenue when he went to the front door of the apartment to let someone in. <p><span>Leonard had recently been released from custody following criminal convictions and had been staying in the apartment for about two weeks.&nbsp; After letting the person into the building, Leonard was walking down the stairs and was shot in the head.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span>Leonard was known on the street as &ldquo;Big Man&rdquo; and it is believed that the person he let into the building is the one who shot him.</span></p> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT GURNICK Adolph https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/GURNICKAdolph On May 02, 1992, Adolph Gurnick was beaten and stabbed. <p>Adolph&nbsp;was found in the lane of&nbsp;12943 - 122 Street.&nbsp; An autopsy revealed he had been beaten on the right side of his head and was stabbed numerous times in the chest area.</p> <p><em>There is a reward&nbsp;of up to $40,000 for information leading to the arrest&nbsp;of&nbsp;the person(s) responsible for this homicide.</em> </p> ]]> 15 Oct 2014 15:35:00 UT Michael PIZZINO https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/MichaelPIZZINO On January 10, 1992, at approximately 2:35 a.m. a passer-by noticed the body of Michael PIZZINO was found just north of 102 A Avenue, east of 109 Street. Michael was badly injured and bleeding from his right leg. An ambulance was flagged down and transported Michael to hospital but died on arrival. An autopsy showed that Michael had been stabbed in his right leg which severed his femoral artery. <br /> <br /> Michael was involved in the drug lifestyle, both as a user and trafficker. It is believed that his lifestyle involving drugs is related to his murder. ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT Lorraine WRAY https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/LorraineWRAY On December 21, 1990, the body of Lorraine WRAY was found in a bathroom of the West End Studio at 15526 Stony Plain Road. <p><span style="color: #333333;">The investigation and subsequent autopsy confirmed that Lorraine was killed by manual strangulation.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="color: #333333;">Lorraine was the owner and sole tenant of the West End Studio where she worked as a masseuse.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT Ruth CLARKE https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/RuthCLARKE Ruth CLARKE was an 83 year old woman who lived at 10946 154 Street with her 43 year old son. <p><span style="color: #333333;">In late October or early November, 1990, Ruth went missing.&nbsp; Investigations failed to turn up any indication of her whereabouts.&nbsp; Foul play was suspected and the totality of circumstances surrounding her disappearance led investigators to believe she was murdered.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="color: #333333;">Ruth was described as 5&rsquo;6&rdquo;, 100 lbs. with blue eyes and grey hair.&nbsp; She would normally wear glasses and use a cane.&nbsp; At the time of the press releases for Ruth, police urged people to check their yards, fields, acreages and buildings for anything suspicious, especially in outlying areas.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT David BERQUIST https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/1990/DavidBERQUIST David BERQUIST was a 26 year old who worked as an assistant manager at a grocery store and was engaged to be married when he went missing on January 25, 1990. <span>Three days after his disappearance, his truck was located in the West Edmonton Mall parking lot.&nbsp; In April 1991, a human skull with a bullet sized hole in it was located in a ravine near 184 Street and 45 Avenue.&nbsp; A detailed search of the area turned up other bones and clothing.&nbsp; The remains were determined to be David&rsquo;s.</span> ]]> 02 Mar 2018 07:00:00 UT
