They pulled over, recognized that it was a body, and contacted police immediately. The Medical Examiner&rsquo;s office determined JAWAD died from blunt force cranial trauma.</p> 06 Nov 2023 07:00:00 UT DylanMcGillis https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/DylanMcGillis At approximately 2:30 a.m., Sunday, November 19, 2006, the victim and his friends left a bar on the south side of Whyte Avenue and walked northbound across the avenue near 106 Street.&nbsp; <p class="MsoBodyText">Once across the street, the group met several males. Words were exchanged, and the suspect’s group quickly grew into more than a dozen people. McGillis and his friends attempted to leave but were swarmed by the other group, resulting in the victim and his friends being pushed to the ground. McGillis was guided away by one of his friends, but they were followed by some of the people from the other group. One of the males lunged forward and the victim was stabbed. The suspect and his group then fled the scene. TILLEY was shot while in the car and subsequently died of her wounds. She is not believed to be the intended target. The homicide of VASQUEZ occurred shortly after the homicide of Cody JOHNSON and Homicide Investigators believe that the two homicides are related.  The homicide of VASQUEZ is believed to be related to the drug trade. ]]> 10 Feb 2009 16:01:00 UT CodyJOHNSON https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/CodyJOHNSON on January 20, 2009 shortly before midnight Cody JOHNSON crashed the vehicle he was driving into a home located at 77 avenue & 156 street. JOHNSON had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.&nbsp; It is believed that his homicide is related to the drug trade and is linked to another homicide that occurred shortly after midnight on the same night (January 21, 2009). ]]> 10 Feb 2009 15:50:00 UT Steven MILLS https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/StevenMILLS On December 31, 2008 shortly before midnight Steven MILLS was stabbed near a gas station located at 106 street and 51 avenue. WHITFORD was stabbed in the landing of an apartment complex located at 11505 - 107 Avenue by an unknown person after an altercation between them.&nbsp; He then&nbsp;ran outside where he succumbed to his injuries just outside the&nbsp;building.&nbsp; ]]> 11 Dec 2008 18:01:00 UT AbasABUKAR https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/AbasABUKAR On October 31st, 2008 Abas ABUKAR was discovered deceased in Northmount Park by a passerby. <p>Abas ABUKAR died from a gun shot wound.&nbsp; He had moved from the Toronto area a few months prior to his death.&nbsp;&nbsp;Homicide Detectives&nbsp;are looking to speak to any associates of Abas ABUKAR to gather information on&nbsp;his movements in the days and weeks leading up to his death.</p> <p>Police continue to investigate and charges have not yet been laid.</p> <p> <em>There is a reward&nbsp;of up to $40,000 for information leading to the arrest&nbsp;of&nbsp;the person(s) responsible for this homicide.</em> </p> ]]> 07 Nov 2008 18:08:00 UT LawrenceBOSIAK https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/LawrenceBOSIAK On October 26th, 2008 Lawrence BOSIAK was shot and killed. At approximately 10:30 pm Lawrence BOSIAK was shot in the stairwell of his apartment complex at 3757 - 139 Avenue.&nbsp; Witnesses have described a person of interest that&nbsp;was seen fleeing from the area around the time of the homicide.&nbsp; Police recovered BOSIAK's wallet in the area leading&nbsp;Homicide&nbsp;Investigators to believe this was a robbery motivated&nbsp;crime.&nbsp; The Edmonton Police Service has released a composite drawing of this person of interest in the hopes that someone may be able to identify him.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; ]]> ]]> 07 Nov 2008 20:34:00 UT Dylan KOSHMAN https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/DylanKOSHMAN Dylan went missing on October 11, 2008 from the residence at 10404-33 Avenue. <p>The circumstances of his disappearance are very suspicious and he has not been heard or seen since that date.</p> <p><em>There is a reward&nbsp;of up to $40,000 for information leading to the arrest&nbsp;of&nbsp;the person(s) responsible for this homicide.</em> </p> ]]> 20 Apr 2017 06:00:00 UT ArfanHAQ https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/ArfanHAQ On September 21st, 2008 Arfan HAQ was shot and killed. At approximately 2:20 am Police received information about shots being fired at a silver Infinity at the on-ramp heading east bound&nbsp;on to Whitemud freeway at 170 street north &amp; the Whitemud overpass.&nbsp; The driver HAQ was pronounced dead at the scene in what appeared to be a drive-by shooting.&nbsp; His shooting is not random and is believed to be gang motivated. ]]> 07 Nov 2008 17:43:00 UT NasirSAID https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/NasirSAID On September 16th, 2008 Nasir SAID was found dead in the field at Balwin Elementary/Junior High School. <p>It is believed that Nasir SAID was shot &amp; killed some time during the late evening of September 15th to the early morning hours of September 16th.&nbsp; SAID's death is&nbsp;believed to be&nbsp;drug-related.</p> <p>Police continue to investigate and charges have not yet been laid.</p> <p> <em>There is a reward&nbsp;of up to $40,000 for information leading to the arrest&nbsp;of&nbsp;the person(s) responsible for this homicide.</em> </p> ]]> 07 Nov 2008 17:19:00 UT Terence MILLER https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/TerenceMILLER On August 17th, 2008 Terence MILLER was shot outside the Native Friendship Center located at 11205-101 street. At approximately 4:44 am Police were called to the area of 101 street &amp; 112 avenue after reports of gunshots being heard.&nbsp; While investigating Police&nbsp;were informed that <strong>Terence MILLER </strong>had&nbsp;been dropped off to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he&nbsp;died&nbsp;from his injuries.&nbsp; <strong>MILLER </strong>was shot in&nbsp;a parking lot full of people&nbsp;at the Friendship Center during an&nbsp;After-Hours Hall Party. ]]> 27 Aug 2008 16:07:00 UT Andrew OBRIEN https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/AndrewOBRIEN On August 5th, 2008 O'BRIEN was found shot outside of an apartment building located at 10741-108 avenue. At approximately 4:15 am Police were called to the area of 10741-108 Avenue after reports of gunshots being heard in the area.&nbsp; Upon arrival Police found <strong>Andrew O'BRIEN </strong>on the ground suffering from&nbsp;a gunshot wound, he later died in hospital.&nbsp; ]]> 27 Aug 2008 15:49:00 UT Scott LADOUCEUR https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/ScottLADOUCEUR On July 02, 2008 at 9:54 pm police were called to the North East Community Health Centre for a report of two gunshot victims who had been transported there by private vehicle. One of the victims, Scott LADOUCEUR, was deceased upon arrival. The other male survived his injuries.&nbsp;It was determined through investigation that the shooting actually occurred near 18 Street and 167 Avenue while the males sat in their vehicle. ]]> 31 Oct 2016 19:33:00 UT AshleyCHAREST https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/AshleyCHAREST On May 15, 2008 at approximately 1:30 AM, Ashley CHAREST was found dead in the parking lot at 139 Ave and 26 St. He died of gun shot wounds to the chest. Investigators believe the victim was meeting with someone at the scene when he was shot. <br /> ]]> 16 May 2008 20:42:00 UT Cory COCKLE https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/CoryCOCKLE An investigation is underway following the discovery of a body in the city’s south end on April 20, 2008. Police were called shortly after 8:00 a.m. when the body of an adult male was discovered behind a residence near 40 Avenue and 61 Street. <p>While certain details of the investigation cannot be made public, it is believed that the victim and his attacker were known to each other and the assault may have been drug-related. A subject of interest has been identified and interviewed by investigators.</p> <p>Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area of 40 Avenue and 61 Street between 4:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. April 20, 2008 and witnessed anything suspicious to call police at 423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.</p> ]]> 28 Apr 2008 20:29:00 UT Alan CUMMING https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/AlanCUMMING At approximately 3:28 a.m. on April 12, 2008, Edmonton resident Alan Cumming called 911 to report that he was injured after being stabbed. The 38-year-old man had just finished his shift of driving bar patrons around in a bus. <p>After parking the bus in the area of 121 Avenue just west of 82 Street, he started walking towards the apartment building where he lives (12130 – 82 Street) when he was suddenly confronted by an unknown male. Cumming was stabbed and the suspect fled the area. It appears that robbery was the motive in the attack.</p> <p> <p>An EPS officer was first on scene followed by EMS personnel who treated the victim and transported him to hospital where he died several hours later.</p> <p> <p>Police officers will be distributing information flyers this afternoon regarding the homicide in the immediate area in hopes of generating tips.</p> <p> <p></p></p></p></p> ]]> 28 Apr 2008 20:29:00 UT Sean/Allan KIER https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/SeanAllanKIER At approx At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2008 police responded to a weapons complaint in the area of 118 Avenue and Wayne Gretzky Drive. When police arrived they found a man outside the Diesel Ultra Lounge nightclub suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds. EMS treated the man but he was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. The Medical Examiner has completed the autopsy on 23-year-old Sean/Allan Kier and has determined that the cause of death was stab wounds. <br /><br />The investigation into the homicide continues. No one is in custody and no charges have been laid. The victim is known to police and is known to have gang ties; however, gang involvement in the incident has not been determined. <br /> ]]> 06 May 2008 15:05:00 UT Wesley LAFLEUR https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/WeslyLafleur At approximately 1053 hrs on the 22nd of January 2008, police were dispatched to a residence in the area of 112 Avenue and 90 Street where a home invasion had occurred and a single gunshot had been reported. <p>On arrival, members located Wesley LAFLEUR in the basement of the residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was transported to the RAH where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. It is believed that as many as 4 individuals may have been involved in the home invasion which precipitated the homicide. </p> <p>Suspect descriptions are poor at this time. </p> ]]> 08 Apr 2008 14:33:00 UT James MILLS https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/JamesMills On 8 January 2008, James MILLS was in and around the Greyhound Bus depot located at 103 Street and 102 Avenue. MILLS was seen talking to a group of people when he was punched and fell to the ground. He was later transported to hospital where he passed away from his injuries on 19 January. A fight was in progress in front of the location when they arrived. LINTNER was struck by one of the combatants and died as a result of the injury he received. ]]> 08 Apr 2008 14:30:00 UT Thanh PHANH https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/ThanhPHANH On November 11, 2007 at 3:46 am police were notified of a fight taking place outside of the Twilight lounge located in the basement of 10018-105 Street. <p>Upon police arrival the combatants had left the scene but a large pool of blood was discovered on the sidewalk outside of the club.</p> <p>A short while later, &nbsp;the police were notified by the University of Alberta Hospital that a deceased 19 year old male had been dropped off in the Emergency area. The deceased was identified as Thanh PHAN and he had been one of the individuals involved in the fight at the Twilight lounge.</p> ]]> 31 Oct 2016 18:56:00 UT Robert Brodyk https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/RobertBrodyk On November 1, 2007, the body of Robert “Bob” BRODYK was found in his residence near 65 Street and 144 Avenue. The discovery was made after family of the victim went to check on him, as he hadn’t been heard from in a few days. It is believed the person or persons responsible stole BRODYK’s truck and it was being driven by the person(s) responsible on Halloween night and during the day of November 1st, 2007. It is believed that BRODYK was killed sometime on the evening of October 31<sup>st</sup>. Homicide Investigators are interested in any information regarding Mr. BRODYK’s vehicle. ]]> ]]> 08 Apr 2008 18:00:00 UT James FOLEY https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/JamesFOLEY On September 04, 2007 at 12:01 pm an EMS unit came across an on view stabbing which had just occurred in the west parking lot of Clark Stadium located on Stadium Road and 92 Street. Upon police arrival they found a male suffering from several serious stab wounds to the body. The caller reported a man in his twenties was passed out in front of a downtown hotel. The male, Edward BONE, was found to be stabbed and was transported to hospital. He later died in hospital. ]]> 31 Oct 2016 18:06:00 UT Richard HARRIS https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/RichardHARRIS On June 12, 2007 at 7:30 pm, police were called to a suspicious vehicle that was parked in a church lot on 144 Avenue and 94 Street. <p>On arrival, North Division officers noticed blood on the vehicle. When they opened the trunk, they found a deceased male inside.&nbsp;The deceased male was identified as Richard HARRIS.</p> ]]> 31 Oct 2016 17:59:00 UT Leonard HALKETT https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/LeonardHALKETT On May 24, 2007 at 9:54 pm police responded to a reported stabbing were at the rear of an address at 96 Street and 102 Avenue. Leonard HALKETT, who was also known as &ldquo;CJ&rdquo;, was found unconscious and was not breathing. He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. ]]> 31 Oct 2016 17:54:00 UT Deng BULGAK https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/BULGAKDeng May 15, 2007 Edmonton Police Service received a number of calls from the area of 133 Avenue & 82 Street of possible gunshots. Police responded and located a vehicle stopped in the alley at the rear of 133 Avenue and&nbsp;82 Street. Officers arrived within minutes and entered the building. Inside the store, a deceased person, Ola MOSES was found on the floor. A further search revealed that two other males uninjured males, who had been bound with duct tape and locked in a room near the back of the store. ]]> ]]> 31 Oct 2016 17:51:00 UT William RUPTASH https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/CrimeFiles/Homicides/2000/WilliamRUPTASH On April 24, 2007 at 3:30 pm police responded to an apartment building on 100 Street and 106 Avenue where William RUPTASH’s body was discovered inside his suite. There is no obvious indication of suspicious activity involving the vehicle, which has been seized for further examination.</p> <p> <p>Sangeeta Khanna, 41, is a single mother and is about 5’4”, 135 lbs, with dark hair and dark eyes. She was last seen wearing white velour pants (possibly with a stripe down the side) and a white top. She walks with a very noticeable limp.</p> <p><b>New information released in missing woman case</b> </p> <p>Although the absence of a body makes it difficult to formally refer to the incident as a homicide, the case is being investigated as such. Police discovered Paul&rsquo;s body at 4:20 a.m. and EMS was called to the scene where they pronounced Paul dead at the scene.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span>The motive for the attack is unknown.&nbsp; He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.</span></p> <p><span>It appeared to investigators that two vehicles were travelling down Walterdale Hill when shots were fired into Terry&rsquo;s vehicle.&nbsp;
