On Sunday, December 2, 2007, at approximately 4:00 p.m., a couple was driving in the area of 211 Avenue and 17 Street when they spotted something in the ditch. They pulled over, recognized that it was a body, and contacted police immediately. The Medical Examiner’s office determined JAWAD died from blunt force cranial trauma.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., Sunday, November 19, 2006, the victim and his friends left a bar on the south side of Whyte Avenue and walked northbound across the avenue near 106 Street.

Once across the street, the group met several males. Words were exchanged, and the suspect’s group quickly grew into more than a dozen people. McGillis and his friends attempted to leave but were swarmed by the other group, resulting in the victim and his friends being pushed to the ground. McGillis was guided away by one of his friends, but they were followed by some of the people from the other group. One of the males lunged forward and the victim was stabbed. The suspect and his group then fled the scene. McGillis was transported to hospital but died from the injuries.

Police have laid a charge in relation to this file but are looking for information on another suspect that is also believed responsible for McGillis’s death.

On December 07, 2007, Erin TILLEY was in a vehicle with friends after leaving the Empire Ballroom at West Edmonton Mall. TILLEY was shot while in the car and subsequently died of her wounds. She is not believed to be the intended target. Police continue to investigate.

On December 12, 2009 Melvin HANSEN was discovered deceased outside of a residence in the area of 90 Street and 130 Avenue.

Autopsy results determined the cause of death to be criminal in nature.

On October 6, 2009 Michelle HADWEN was discovered lying unconscious in the area of 79 Street and 121 Avenue.

Michelle HADWEN was transported to the hospital where she later died. Investigations revealed that Michelle HADWEN’s injuries and death were criminal in nature and not related to a vehicle collision.

Police continue to investigate and charges have not yet been laid.

On September 25, 2009 Alfred HUDSON was stabbed at Mary Burlie Park located at 10465 97 Street.

While at the park, Alfred HUDSON was involved in an altercation during which he was stabbed and later died as a result of his injuries.

During the early morning hours of February 19 Landis STICK was discovered lying unconscious in the snow at 107 avenue and 104 street. Landis STICK had been stabbed and was transported to the hospital where he later died.

Shortly after midnight on January 21, 2009 Fernando VASQUEZ was shot and killed at McAllister Loop. The homicide of VASQUEZ occurred shortly after the homicide of Cody JOHNSON and Homicide Investigators believe that the two homicides are related. The homicide of VASQUEZ is believed to be related to the drug trade.

on January 20, 2009 shortly before midnight Cody JOHNSON crashed the vehicle he was driving into a home located at 77 avenue & 156 street. JOHNSON had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. It is believed that his homicide is related to the drug trade and is linked to another homicide that occurred shortly after midnight on the same night (January 21, 2009).

On December 31, 2008 shortly before midnight Steven MILLS was stabbed near a gas station located at 106 street and 51 avenue. MILLS had gotten into a verbal altercation in the gas station with 2 males; the dispute continued outside and became physical. MILLS was located a short time after this altercation lying in the middle of 51st avenue with a stab wound to the chest and died as a result of his injuries.

He was found shot to death in a parking lot of a condominium complex in North Edmonton.

On December 2nd, 2008 a person walking their dog in the Grand Trunk Park located the victim.

MOHAMOUD was already deceased when he was discovered in the park located at 109 Street & 130 Avenue. He had been beaten and shot to death.

On November 30th, 2008 Richard WHITFORD was stabbed and killed. WHITFORD was stabbed in the landing of an apartment complex located at 11505 - 107 Avenue by an unknown person after an altercation between them. He then ran outside where he succumbed to his injuries just outside the building.

On October 31st, 2008 Abas ABUKAR was discovered deceased in Northmount Park by a passerby.

Abas ABUKAR died from a gun shot wound. He had moved from the Toronto area a few months prior to his death. Homicide Detectives are looking to speak to any associates of Abas ABUKAR to gather information on his movements in the days and weeks leading up to his death.

On October 26th, 2008 Lawrence BOSIAK was shot and killed. At approximately 10:30 pm Lawrence BOSIAK was shot in the stairwell of his apartment complex at 3757 - 139 Avenue. Witnesses have described a person of interest that was seen fleeing from the area around the time of the homicide. Police recovered BOSIAK's wallet in the area leading Homicide Investigators to believe this was a robbery motivated crime. The Edmonton Police Service has released a composite drawing of this person of interest in the hopes that someone may be able to identify him.

On September 21st, 2008 Arfan HAQ was shot and killed. At approximately 2:20 am Police received information about shots being fired at a silver Infinity at the on-ramp heading east bound on to Whitemud freeway at 170 street north & the Whitemud overpass. The driver HAQ was pronounced dead at the scene in what appeared to be a drive-by shooting. His shooting is not random and is believed to be gang motivated.

On September 16th, 2008 Nasir SAID was found dead in the field at Balwin Elementary/Junior High School.

It is believed that Nasir SAID was shot & killed some time during the late evening of September 15th to the early morning hours of September 16th. SAID's death is believed to be drug-related.

On August 17th, 2008 Terence MILLER was shot outside the Native Friendship Center located at 11205-101 street. At approximately 4:44 am Police were called to the area of 101 street & 112 avenue after reports of gunshots being heard. While investigating Police were informed that Terence MILLER had been dropped off to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where he died from his injuries. MILLER was shot in a parking lot full of people at the Friendship Center during an After-Hours Hall Party.

On August 5th, 2008 O'BRIEN was found shot outside of an apartment building located at 10741-108 avenue. At approximately 4:15 am Police were called to the area of 10741-108 Avenue after reports of gunshots being heard in the area. Upon arrival Police found Andrew O'BRIEN on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound, he later died in hospital.

On July 02, 2008 at 9:54 pm police were called to the North East Community Health Centre for a report of two gunshot victims who had been transported there by private vehicle. One of the victims, Scott LADOUCEUR, was deceased upon arrival. The other male survived his injuries. It was determined through investigation that the shooting actually occurred near 18 Street and 167 Avenue while the males sat in their vehicle.

An investigation is underway following the discovery of a body in the city’s south end on April 20, 2008. Police were called shortly after 8:00 a.m. when the body of an adult male was discovered behind a residence near 40 Avenue and 61 Street.

While certain details of the investigation cannot be made public, it is believed that the victim and his attacker were known to each other and the assault may have been drug-related. A subject of interest has been identified and interviewed by investigators.

Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area of 40 Avenue and 61 Street between 4:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. April 20, 2008 and witnessed anything suspicious to call police at 423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

At approximately 3:28 a.m. on April 12, 2008, Edmonton resident Alan Cumming called 911 to report that he was injured after being stabbed. The 38-year-old man had just finished his shift of driving bar patrons around in a bus.

After parking the bus in the area of 121 Avenue just west of 82 Street, he started walking towards the apartment building where he lives (12130 – 82 Street) when he was suddenly confronted by an unknown male. Cumming was stabbed and the suspect fled the area. It appears that robbery was the motive in the attack.

An EPS officer was first on scene followed by EMS personnel who treated the victim and transported him to hospital where he died several hours later.

Police officers will be distributing information flyers this afternoon regarding the homicide in the immediate area in hopes of generating tips.

At approx At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2008 police responded to a weapons complaint in the area of 118 Avenue and Wayne Gretzky Drive. When police arrived they found a man outside the Diesel Ultra Lounge nightclub suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds. EMS treated the man but he was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. The Medical Examiner has completed the autopsy on 23-year-old Sean/Allan Kier and has determined that the cause of death was stab wounds.

The investigation into the homicide continues. No one is in custody and no charges have been laid. The victim is known to police and is known to have gang ties; however, gang involvement in the incident has not been determined.

At approximately 1053 hrs on the 22nd of January 2008, police were dispatched to a residence in the area of 112 Avenue and 90 Street where a home invasion had occurred and a single gunshot had been reported.

On arrival, members located Wesley LAFLEUR in the basement of the residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was transported to the RAH where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. It is believed that as many as 4 individuals may have been involved in the home invasion which precipitated the homicide.

Suspect descriptions are poor at this time.

James MILLS

On 8 January 2008, James MILLS was in and around the Greyhound Bus depot located at 103 Street and 102 Avenue. MILLS was seen talking to a group of people when he was punched and fell to the ground. He was later transported to hospital where he passed away from his injuries on 19 January. Below is a photo of what MILLS was wearing the night he was killed.

On 13 January 2008 Randy LINTNER and two of his friends attended the Canadian Brewhouse located at 97 Street and 127 Avenue. A fight was in progress in front of the location when they arrived. LINTNER was struck by one of the combatants and died as a result of the injury he received.

On November 11, 2007 at 3:46 am police were notified of a fight taking place outside of the Twilight lounge located in the basement of 10018-105 Street.

Upon police arrival the combatants had left the scene but a large pool of blood was discovered on the sidewalk outside of the club.

A short while later, the police were notified by the University of Alberta Hospital that a deceased 19 year old male had been dropped off in the Emergency area. The deceased was identified as Thanh PHAN and he had been one of the individuals involved in the fight at the Twilight lounge.

On November 1, 2007, the body of Robert “Bob” BRODYK was found in his residence near 65 Street and 144 Avenue. The discovery was made after family of the victim went to check on him, as he hadn’t been heard from in a few days. It is believed the person or persons responsible stole BRODYK’s truck and it was being driven by the person(s) responsible on Halloween night and during the day of November 1st, 2007. It is believed that BRODYK was killed sometime on the evening of October 31^st. Homicide Investigators are interested in any information regarding Mr. BRODYK’s vehicle.

On September 04, 2007 at 12:01 pm an EMS unit came across an on view stabbing which had just occurred in the west parking lot of Clark Stadium located on Stadium Road and 92 Street. Upon police arrival they found a male suffering from several serious stab wounds to the body. The male, later identified as James FOLEY, was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

On July 31, 2007 at 1:30 am, EPS Homicide detectives were called to an assault in the area of 105 Street and Jasper Avenue. The caller reported a man in his twenties was passed out in front of a downtown hotel. The male, Edward BONE, was found to be stabbed and was transported to hospital. He later died in hospital.

On June 12, 2007 at 7:30 pm, police were called to a suspicious vehicle that was parked in a church lot on 144 Avenue and 94 Street.

On arrival, North Division officers noticed blood on the vehicle. When they opened the trunk, they found a deceased male inside. The deceased male was identified as Richard HARRIS.

On May 6, 2007 at approximately 3:50 pm, police received a report of multiple shots coming from inside a store called Urban Stylez on 110 Street and 107 Avenue. Officers arrived within minutes and entered the building. Inside the store, a deceased person, Ola MOSES was found on the floor. A further search revealed that two other males uninjured males, who had been bound with duct tape and locked in a room near the back of the store.

On April 24, 2007 at 3:30 pm police responded to an apartment building on 100 Street and 106 Avenue where William RUPTASH’s body was discovered inside his suite. The apartment manager had entered the suite and discovered his body at the request of an acquaintance who had not heard from the man recently. There were obvious signs of trauma to RUPTASH’s body and the cause of death has been determined to be blood loss as a result of a wound to the neck.

The male was identified as Joseph PARISIEN had been transported to the Royal Alexandra Hospital by EMS where he succumbed to his injuries. The injuries were later determined to be sustained from a gunshot.

On January 21, 2007 the body of Stephane Landry was discovered in an alley just west of the Bonnie Doon Shopping Centre near 85 Street, north of 82 Avenue. Landry had suffered a stab wound to the chest. A photo from a security video shows a male approximately 6’ feet tall, 200 pounds with a husky build. He is a 'person of interest' in this homicide and police are interested in identifying this male. A bloody knife was also located near the scene of the homicide.

On Tuesday, March 13th detectives released the picture of a knife (below) they believe may have been used in the incident as well as security video from a convenience store Landry frequented.

Detectives are released photos taken from some security video (below). The male in the video is being referred to as a ‘person of interest.’ Investigators believe the man could provide them with information about the Landry homicide.

On September 09, 2006, Lily was shot inside her vehicle at 76th Avenue and Argyll Road when an older model black van pulled alongside Lily’s Mercedes and the occupants opened fire.

Lily died at the scene.

Lily was not believed to be a gang member however she was associating with known gang members when she was shot. The shooting is believed to be gang related.

On Monday, July 24, 2006 around 2 p.m. Dung was driving an Infiniti on 112th Street near 107th Ave when he was blocked in by a van.

Several shots were fired, Dung got out of the vehicle and collapsed. He later died in hospital.

Dung was believed to have gang connections and suspected drugs were located in the car. It is believed that Dung’s death was both drug and gang related.

On June 18, 2006 shortly after 2 a.m. homicide detectives were called to the area of 92nd Street and 34th Avenue. Michael REIGER was at that location, shot to death. Michael was alleged to have been connected to the Hells Angels, which is thought to have contributed to his death.

On Tuesday, June 13, 2006, Police responded to a report of gunshots in the area of 29th Street and 116A Avenue.

When they arrived, Bryan LEE was found injured after being shot. He died shortly later in hospital. Autopsy results determined he died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Neither robbery nor a fight was believed to be motives for the murder. Bryan was struggling with addiction issues and that is thought to have played a part in his death. Bryan was not believed to have gang connections.

At about 11:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2006, Sangeeta Khanna called her 15-year-old son and told him that she was going to stop at the bank and then would be home shortly. In the morning her son noticed that she wasn’t at home and he decided to go to school. The boy shared the story with a friend’s mother who then notified police late Tuesday afternoon.

Officers located her vehicle in the RBC parking lot on 23 Avenue and 66 Street. There is no obvious indication of suspicious activity involving the vehicle, which has been seized for further examination.

Sangeeta Khanna, 41, is a single mother and is about 5’4”, 135 lbs, with dark hair and dark eyes. She was last seen wearing white velour pants (possibly with a stripe down the side) and a white top. She walks with a very noticeable limp.

New information released in missing woman case

Although the absence of a body makes it difficult to formally refer to the incident as a homicide, the case is being investigated as such. Police have identified an adult male suspect believed to be connected to the disappearance, and investigations revealed that the suspect traveled possibly as far east as Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, following the time Sangeeta Khanna was last heard from. The male suspect is known to Ms. Khanna.

On August 14, 2005 Denis BEAUDOIN was assaulted in front of 9346 105 Ave. He was transported by EMS to the Royal Alexandra Hospital. BEAUDOIN was reportedly having difficulty breathing as a result of the assault. It is believed that the assault on BEAUDOIN was committed by multiple individuals. On August 20, 2005 BEAUDOIN discharged himself from the hospital and two days later, BEAUDOIN went into cardiac arrest while at City Centre Mall. He was readmitted to hospital, but later died on August 26, 2005 as a result of the injuries sustained from the assault.

On 2005 July 27th at approximately 2100 hours, Robert James LARKIN (54) was found in his residence at # 204, 9662 Jasper Avenue.

LARKIN appeared to have been assaulted, and was transported to the Royal Alexandra Hospital by E.M.S. LARKIN died on 2005 September 19, while still in hospital. The autopsy confirmed LARKIN's death as homicide.

On June 17, 2005, Dilbag SANDHU was working at the Mac's Convenience store located at 4412-36 Avenue.

He was shot during an armed robbery that was committed by two unknown persons, who escaped with money and cigarettes. The suspects were caught on video which was released to the public.

There is a reward of up to $40,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for this homicide.

On May 1, 2005 Krishneil SINGH was shot and killed while riding his bike in the area of 47 Street and 38 Avenue.

Witnesses heard a vehicle engine revving around the bend where Millwoods Rd E turns into 38 Ave. Moments later they heard a single gunshot followed by a short pause, then 2 or 3 consecutive shots. The vehicle was then heard revving again, and left the area. Police were dispatched to the scene, where the victim was found lying on the sidewalk approximately 5 meters from his bicycle.

On February 1, 2005 Aaron DAHL was at the Keg and Q Billiard Club located at 8126 82 Avenue. He was alone but had been playing pool and drinking beer with some other patrons throughout the afternoon. At some point between 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm, DAHL left the club with two people. Within seconds, a noise was heard by other patrons and staff who responded to find DAHL lying at the bottom of the stairs suffering from stab wounds. He was transported to hospital, but died from the injuries he had sustained.

On January 25, 2005 at approximately 2:00 pm, the partially clad body of Samantha BERG was discovered in a parking lot at 7829 127 Avenue.

On January 23, 2005 at approx. 1900hrs Chi TON stepped outside for a cigarette on his deck at #25, 245 Kirkness Road.

Shortly after, family members inside the residence heard strange sounds and found the victim collapsed. EMS was called and transported TON to the Royal Alexandra hospital where it was discovered that TON had actually been shot. TON died as a result of his injuries.

During the early hours of January 15, 2005 police received a complaint of a Stabbing at the Globe Tap Bar & Grill located at 10045 109 Street. It was determined that 23 year old Anthony DOYLE had been seriously stabbed. Two other people were also injured during this incident. It is believed that Mr. DOYLE was attacked after coming to the aid of his friend and a female was injured by accident. The victim died from the stab wound(s) he had received.

NGUYEN Huy Le

On November 20, 2004, Huy Le was fatally shot.

Huy Le was leaving the Noodle House restaurant, 5720 Calgary Trail, with his brother and friends. The victim saw other friends and went to talk to them. The others went to the vehicle to stay warm. A vehicle approached the group and several shots were fired, hitting all four victims. The victim died, while the other three victims were transported to hospital and lived.

BLACK Cheryl

In 2004, Cheryl Black (also known as Cheryl Ford), was fatally burned.

A citizen called police to report that a body was in a burned out dumpster behind 10322 - 83 Avenue. After investigations, it was discovered to be Cheryl.

On Saturday, December 18, 2004, witnesses observed a male person lying in Henrietta Muir Edwards Park, near 96A Street and 98A Avenue. When the male did not move for some time, EMS was called. Josue was pronounced dead at the scene and police were called.

Josue was believed to have gang affiliations and his murder is believed to be drug and gang related.

Souraphanh BEUNGXAY

On December 16, 2004 at approximately 6:25 a.m. police responded to a report of gunshots. When Police arrived, Souraphanh was located deceased with a gunshot wound.

It is believed that Souraphanh was a gang member and that his death was drug and gang related.

On September 12, 2004 at approximately 3:40 p.m. police received a report of a male shot in his vehicle in the area of 152 Avenue and 67 Street.

On arrival, police located Manfredo JAIMES suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was rushed to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Witnesses described a white Nissan Pulsar (driven by Manfredo) being chased by two red cars, possibly an Acura Integra and a 240 SX. After the shooting, both red cars departed the location, and a passenger in Manfredo’s car fled the area on foot.

Dana POLLOCK

On September 11, 2004 at approximately 12:50 a.m. police responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of 107 Avenue and 108 Street.

Police located Dana POLLOCK suffering from chest injuries. Dana was transported to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators identified the possibility of an altercation between two males at the Red Cherry Lounge. The men were ejected by bar staff around midnight. Once outside, it appears that one of the men called Dana out to assist him. At some point after that, Dana was stabbed.

On Saturday, July 17, 2004, two weddings were taking place at the Mirama Dining and Lounge located at 9431 Jasper Avenue.

At approximately 11:45 p.m. police received a call of a stabbing at that location. When police arrived, several wounded people were located with stab wounds.

Minh was transported to hospital with a grave wound. He died on Thursday, July 29, 2004 of his injuries.

Investigations revealed that two weddings were taking place simultaneously at the location, on separate floors, and a fight broke out. It is believed that members from rival gangs were invited to both weddings. The reason for the fight is not known, but it is believed to be gang related. All six injured people, and Minh, were reportedly gang members.

At approximately 11:45 p.m. police received a call of a stabbing at that location. When police arrived, several wounded people were located with stab wounds.

James was located deceased in the stairwell of the lounge with stab wounds.

Donald PHAM

On Sunday, May 2, 2004 at approximately 1:45 a.m. a fight broke out at the Now & Us karaoke bar at 3925 99th Street.

The fight spilled out into the parking lot. Several people were stabbed, including Donald who was found dead at the scene with a stab wound to the chest.

Don was not involved in drug or gang activity and the fight was said to have included up to 50 people. His murder appears to be a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, as it is not believed he was specifically targeted.

Kishaun BARKER

On Thursday, April 1, 2004 at about 12:13 a.m. a black SUV drove op the emergency ramp at the U of A hospital with Kishaun BARKER in the backseat.

The driver fled on foot. Paramedics examined Kishaun who was soon pronounced dead.

Approximately 5 minutes before Kishaun was dropped off at the hospital, Police received two separate reports of gunshots in the area of 71 Avenue and 79 Street. Investigations led Police to the crime scene which was just outside of Showgirls strip club. It appeared that Kishaun was targeted in the attack.

Robert SIMPSON

On January 30, 2004 around 11:15 p.m. police responded to a report of a shooting outside of St. Pete’s Men’s Club located at 111th Avenue and 156th Street. On arrival, Robert SIMPSON was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

Robert was described as a “hang around” on the Bandito’s motorcycle gang website shortly after the murder was reported. The shooting is believed to be gang related.

Joseph CAMBELL AKA: Joey MORIN

On January 30, 2004 around 11:15 p.m. Police responded to a report of a shooting outside of St. Pete’s Men’s Club located at 111th Avenue and 156th Street.

On arrival, Joey MORIN was found seriously wounded with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. He died in hospital the next day.

Joey was described as a “probationary” member of the Bandito’s motorcycle gang on their website shortly after the murder was reported. The shooting is believed to be gang related.

On January 2, 2004 at approximately 8:00 pm, Mir HUSSAIN had been stopped at a traffic light at 121 Street and 104 Avenue. Mr. HUSSAIN was approached by a male from a car behind him. They became involved in an altercation beside their vehicles. The victim's vehicle was a white 1997 Toyota Corolla and the assailant's vehicle was a dark coloured, older hatchback type vehicle. Investigations revealed the victim, Mir HUSSAIN was stabbed during the altercation. The assailant is described as: Caucasian or Native male, 5’10"-6'0" Medium build, wearing dark sweat style pants, a black touque, and a black and white parka.

There is a reward for up to $40,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for this homicide.

Eleazor GIROUX

On Wednesday, September 24, 2003, around 11:00 p.m., Eleazor GIROUX was driving in the area of 127 Avenue and 104 Street when he was shot.

Detectives believe someone in a vehicle driving behind Eleazor shot through the back of his Ford Explorer window, striking him in the back of the head. The Explorer went out of control and struck some parked vehicles.

GIROUX was transported to hospital where he later died of his injuries. GIROUX was known to Police and the EPS Gang Unit assisted with the investigation.

Paul NEILSON

In the early hours of July 23, 2003, witnesses observed Paul NEILSON being chased by a group of 6 native males in the area of 108A Avenue and 95th Street.

The group caught up to Paul and savagely beat, kicked, and stabbed him, leaving him bleeding on the road. Police discovered Paul’s body at 4:20 a.m. and EMS was called to the scene where they pronounced Paul dead at the scene.

The motive for the attack is unknown. It is believed that witnesses who spoke to local television stations departed Edmonton shortly after the murder.

Terry WHITFORD

At approximately 10:58 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2003, Police received several reports of shots heard in the area of the Walterdale Hill near the Kinsmen Sports Centre.

On arrival, Terry was found inside the car, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It appeared to investigators that two vehicles were travelling down Walterdale Hill when shots were fired into Terry’s vehicle. The suspect vehicle was described as a small red vehicle, last seen headed north across the Walterdale Bridge. The shooting appeared to be drug and gang related.

On Monday, April 7, 2003, the body of Lorne HICKS was located in a rooming house at 9696 Jasper Avenue. He was located wrapped in blankets by the manager and had been deceased for some time.

Alan CHUNG

On February 3, 2003, Alan CHUNG was driving in the area of 100 Avenue and 105 Street when an SUV pulled up beside him and the occupants opened fire towards Alan. Several minutes later, and several blocks away, Alan drove over a snow bank, getting his car stuck. Alan crawled out of his car and died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

CHUNG was a known gang member and had been convicted of 1^st degree murder after he shot Tuan LE in 1996. Alan’s death is believed to be drug and gang related.

Roy RICHARDS

On November 27, 2002 around 8:30 a.m. the body of Roy RICHARDS was located near 96 Street and 106A Avenue.

Roy had severe head trauma and was obviously deceased at the time he was located. Investigations led Police to a rooming house near 95 Street and 106A Avenue.

The autopsy showed that Roy was savagely beaten to death. No suspects have been identified and no witnesses have been located.

Roland SIMARD

On October 24, 2002, at approximately 9:30 p.m. staff at the Edmonton Institution became aware of a disturbance inside a cell.

Upon checking, Roland SIMARD was found beaten and strangled to death.

Roland was serving two life sentences for murders and an additional 20 years for the attempted murder of a prison guard at the time of his death. The inmates living on the unit where he was murdered were locked down during the investigation, but no charges were laid.

On September 19, 2002, around 11:40 p.m., police received reports that a male was shot near 145 Avenue and 54 Street.

On arrival, Julian WRIGHT was found dead in a white sports car, with multiple gunshot wounds.

Witnesses described seeing two people get into a large, older model, four-door car, possibly a Ford LTD or Oldsmobile.

Norman HOANG

On August 10, 2002, Norman HOANG was walking to his car outside of a bar, known at that time as “Barry T’s Grand Central Station” located at 6111 104th Street.

As he approached his vehicle, a van drove up beside him and fired multiple shots. HOANG was struck several times. He was transported to hospital where he died a short time later.

HOANG was known to Police and was involved in the drug and gang activity. His murder is believed to be gang related.

On June 30, 2002, two days after being admitted to hospital, Daniel LECLERC was taken off life support after repeated tests showed no brain activity. An autopsy was conducted and showed that Daniel had died from being shaken severely.

Gary PRIME was found deceased in his 10th floor suite, which is near 99 Ave and 101 St. The investigation revealed the Gary was likely killed by someone he knew. The motive for his killing is not known but it is believed that some illegal drugs he may have had in the suite were missing.

Andrew BUTTNOR

On October 3rd, 2000, around 5:00 a.m. Andrew BUTTNOR was found dead in his car on 115 Avenue west of 139 Street.

He was discovered by a motorist driving in the area. Andrew had been shot in the head and the autopsy confirmed that to be the cause of death.

Andrew was known to be involved in drugs and believe that may have played a role in his murder.

Henry FERGUSON

On March 13, 2000, Henry FERGUSON was found dead in a van behind a residence near 107 Avenue and 103 Street.

Henry had been beaten to death and found by bottle pickers.

Henry, along with two men and a pregnant woman were said to have been living in the van for about a month prior to Henry’s murder.
