Calls for service - August 15, 2025 https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/News/CallsForService/CallForServiceAug15 <p>On Aug. 15, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a man boarded a bus in the area of 95 Ave and 165 Street. He reportedly pulled out a knife and began yelling and waving it in the air, at times pointing the knife at the people on the fully loaded bus. The man sat down and appeared to sit in silence while continuing to hold the knife. The passengers on the bus reportedly feared for their safety. Police arrived in the area quickly and were able to arrest the man without incident.&nbsp; Charges are pending.</p> 27 Aug 2025 06:00:00 UT Calls for service - August 13, 2025 https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/News/CallsForService/CallForServiceAug13 <p>On Aug. 13, 2025, at 7:15 a.m. on Whitemud Drive near 66 Street, officers were travelling through the construction zone behind a BMW. At the end of the construction zone, the adult male driving the BMW sped up to 144 km/ hr in the posted 80km/hr zone. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was issued a mandatory court summons.</p> 27 Aug 2025 06:00:00 UT Calls for service - August 12, 2025 https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/News/CallsForService/CallForServiceAug12 <p>On Aug. 12, 2025, at 3:31 p.m. police responded to a weapons complaint in the area of 112 Street and 153 Avenue. It was reported a man had brandished a firearm and threatened someone. Officers located the suspect who attempted to evade them. He was soon arrested, and officers recovered a rifle and ammunition. The investigation continues.</p> 27 Aug 2025 06:00:00 UT Calls for service - August 18, 2025 https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/News/CallsForService/CallForServiceAug18 <p>On Aug. 18, 2025, at 5:54 a.m., police received a report of an intoxicated driver who drove his vehicle into the side wall barrier on Yellowhead Trail at Fort Road. The vehicle reportedly suffered a blown-out tire, and the driver was passed out.&nbsp; On arrival, police made sure the vehicle could not flee, woke the driver and arrested him without issue. Police continue to investigate.</p> 27 Aug 2025 06:00:00 UT Calls for service - August 14, 2025 https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/News/CallsForService/CallForServiceAug14 <p>Just after 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 14, 2025, at a red light at the intersection of 97 Street and 152 Avenue, an unmarked police vehicle was behind a Mercedes Benz and an Infiniti. When the light turned green, the two vehicles accelerated and reached speeds of 145 km/hr in the 70 km/hr zone. Officers activated their lights and sirens, and the driver of the Infiniti pulled over. The adult male driver was issued a mandatory court summons. The Mercedes&rsquo; plate was recorded, and a ticket will be issued. </p> 27 Aug 2025 06:00:00 UT Calls for service - August 10, 2025 - August 11, 2025 https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/News/CallsForService/CallForServiceAug10 <p>On Aug. 10, 2025, at 8 a.m. the EPS Transit and Community Safety Team (TRACS) investigated two random unprovoked assaults where the accused, an adult male, struck a male in the face at the Belvedere Transit Centre, boarded a train and then struck another passenger. The suspect was arrested at Churchill Station. Charges are pending.</p> <p>At approximately 7 a.m. on Aug. 11, 2025, a Dodge truck operated by an adult male struck an adult female pedestrian who was reportedly jaywalking in the area of Stony Plain Road and 158 Street. The female suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital.&nbsp;The driver was arrested on scene for suspended driving. </p> 20 Aug 2025 15:04:20 UT Calls for service - June 9, 2025 - June 23, 2025 https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/News/CallsForService/CallForServiceJune9 <p><strong><span>Motorcycle vs. Car Collision</span></strong></p> <p><span>On June 9, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., police responded to a collision involving a motorcycle and a car in the area of 124 Avenue and 97 Street.&nbsp; The motorcyclist was transported to hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries. Police continue to investigate.</span></p> <p><strong><span>Injury collision </span></strong></p> <p><span>On June 10, 2025, at 11 p.m., police responded to a collision involving a motorcycle that slid off the road in the area of 97 Street and 167 Avenue. It was reported that two eastbound vehicles ran the red light, causing the motorcycle rider to react, lay down the motorcycle, slide off the road and hit some trees.&nbsp; The adult rider was transported by EMS to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police continue to investigate.</span></p> <p><strong><span>Commercial robbery </span></strong></p> <p><span>On June 16, 2025, at 9:15 p.m., police responded to a commercial robbery at a convenience store in the area of 99 Avenue and 104 Street.&nbsp; It was reported that two males and a female entered the store, and the female grabbed merchandise as one of the males openly held and displayed a canister of pepper spray while talking to the clerk.&nbsp; The three suspects left the store and were not apprehended.&nbsp; Police continue to investigate.</span></p> <p><strong><span>Possession of a concealed weapon</span></strong></p> <p><span>On June 19, 2025, at 7:30 a.m., police responded to Churchill LRT Station in the area of 99 Street and 102 Avenue. It was reported that peace officers saw a male sleeping in the station and noticed he had a firearm.&nbsp; Officers woke him up and seized the loaded firearm.&nbsp; Police continue to investigate.</span></p> <p><strong><span>Personal robbery/ Carjacking</span></strong></p> <p><span>On June 20, 2025, at approximately 9 p.m., police responded to a carjacking in the area of 117 Avenue and 87 Street. It was reported that a taxi driver had been assaulted with a rock and removed from his vehicle. The two accused then fled in the cab. The driver was transported to hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.&nbsp; The cab was later located by police outside of the city where it was involved in a collision. The two occupants were subsequently arrested and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police continue to investigate.</span></p> <p><strong><span>Personal robbery</span></strong></p> <p><span>On June 23, 2025, at 10:45 p.m., police responded to a personal robbery call on the LRT train at Stadium Station (111 Avenue and 84 Street). It was reported that a male passenger was approached by a group of four male suspects as he was preparing to exit. The group told the passenger that they were going to take his bike and then proceeded to assault and rob him. The group then exited the train and left the scene. Soon after, transit security notified police that a suspect from the robbery had returned to Stadium LRT Station. Police arrived and arrested him and a second suspect. Officers continue to investigate.</span></p> <span><br /> </span> 02 Jul 2025 17:40:34 UT Calls for service - June 3, 2025 https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/News/CallsForService/CallForServiceJune3 <p><span>On June 3, 2025, at 12:45 p.m., police responded to a hotel in the area of 40 Avenue and Gateway Blvd, for reports of a male driver passed out for some time behind the wheel of an SUV. Police attended, and due to impairment concerns, prevented the vehicle from fleeing. The adult driver was subsequently taking into custody after failing a <em>Standardized Field Sobriety Test</em>. Police continue to investigate.</span></p> <p><span>&nbsp;</span></p> 30 Jun 2025 19:21:37 UT Calls for service - May 31, 2025 https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/News/CallsForService/CallForServiceMay31 <p><span>On May 31, 2025, at 12:45 p.m., a Mercedes operated by an adult male was driving southbound on Groat Road at 87 Avenue. &nbsp;At the same time an adult male pedestrian was crossing in the marked crosswalk on the southwest corner of the traffic circle and was struck by the vehicle. &nbsp;The pedestrian was transported to hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries. Police continue to investigate. </span></p> 26 Jun 2025 20:40:23 UT Calls for service - May 29, 2025 https://www.edmontonpolice.ca/News/CallsForService/CallForServiceMay29 <p><span>On May 29, 2025, at 2 a.m., police were conducting proactive enforcement in the area of Millwoods Road and 87 Street. A Mercedes was observed on radar travelling at 110 km/hr in the marked 50 km/hr zone.
