Autopsy complete in west Edmonton death

An autopsy has been completed in the death of a female in west Edmonton.

On Friday, August 19, 2022, at approximately 10:45 p.m., police responded to the report of an injured female in a suite in the area of 166 Street and Stony Plain Road. When police members arrived, they located Daphne Badger, 35, who was transported to hospital by paramedics where she succumbed to her injuries.

David Cardinal, 39, was arrested and charged with manslaughter and possession of a prohibited firearm.

On Tuesday, August 23, 2022, an autopsy completed by the Edmonton Medical Examiner determined that Badger died of a gunshot wound. The manner of death was homicide.
