Police seek witnesses and video following fatal collision

Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Major Collision officers are investigating a collision that occurred in west Edmonton on Monday, October 21, 2024. 

West Branch patrol officers were dispatched to 134 Street and 114 Avenue in response to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at approximately 2 p.m. on October 21, 2024. The driver was headed east on 114 Avenue and struck the 83-year-old male pedestrian who was headed northbound in the crosswalk and thrown from his wheelchair. EMS responded, treated and transported him to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries in hospital on October 28, 2024.

Major Collision Investigation Section (MCIS) continues to support patrol officers and are asking anyone who may have witnessed or has dash camera footage of this collision to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
