Man charged in relation to 2018 homicide

The EPS Homicide Section has laid charges against a man in relation to the 2018 death of Virgil Quinn, 36. 

On Jun. 23, 2020, Clayton Dennis Cardinal, 36, was arrested and charged with manslaughter in relation to this homicide.

The cause of Quinn’s death was determined to be blunt head trauma.

No further information is available at this time.


At approximately 9:40 p.m. on Oct.17, 2018, police were called to an alley near 118 Avenue and 82 Street, where Virgil Quinn, 36, was found in medical distress.

Quinn was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He succumbed to his injuries on Oct.18, 2018.

An autopsy conducted on Oct. 19, 2018 determined the manner of death to be homicide. At the time, the cause of death was withheld for investigative reasons.
