Police investigating suspicious death

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating the suspicious death of a male who was found deceased in an encampment this afternoon.

Today at approximately 2:36 p.m., Downtown Branch officers responded to the report of a male who had been found deceased in an encampment near the walking path and LRT tracks in the area of 95 Street and 106 Avenue. The death has been deemed suspicious, and Homicide Section has taken over the investigation.

The death was originally reported to the city’s encampment team by an unidentified male. Detectives would like to speak with this male, who may have information that could assist the investigation, and are asking him to come forward to police.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday, Dec. 2, 2022.
