Autopsy confirms New Year’s Eve suspicious death is a homicide

An autopsy conducted by the Edmonton Medical Examiner has confirmed that the death of a 31-year-old male on Dec. 31, 2021 is a homicide.

At approximately 3:35 a.m. on New Year’s Eve, police responded to a trouble unknown call at a residence near 120 Avenue and 93 Street in northwest Edmonton.

Upon arrival, EPS members discovered Sheldon Johnson, 31,
deceased inside the residence. Cause of death is not being released at this time for investigative purposes.

EPS Homicide Section detectives continue to investigate and are releasing a photo of Mr. Johnson in an attempt to generate some tips regarding the suspect(s) responsible for his death.
