Police seek doorbell and CCTV footage from Montrose neighborhood following sexual assault on elderly woman

Police are asking residents in the Montrose neighborhood to review their doorbell and CCTV footage to help identify a suspect in a recent sexual assault.

On Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, police responded to the report of a sexual assault against an elderly woman in the area of 121 Avenue and 61 Street (Montrose neighborhood). It was reported that sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. an unknown male suspect rang the woman’s doorbell and reportedly forced himself inside her residence and committed a sexual assault. The suspect was unknown to the woman. 

The male suspect is thought to be between the ages of 45-60 and is believed to be approximately 6’0” tall and 190 lbs. The suspect had dark stubble on his face and was wearing glasses, a blue jacket, dark pants and a black toque at the time.  

Police are asking residents who live between 60-63 Street and 120-122 Avenue to review their doorbell and CCTV footage between the hours of 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 for any suspicious activity or any individuals matching the suspect’s description.
