Autopsy complete in central Edmonton death

An autopsy has been completed in the death of a 40-year-old male in central Edmonton last week.

On Thursday, Sep. 8, 2022 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Downtown Branch Patrol officers responded to the report of an injured male inside a residence in the area of 106 Avenue and 105 Street. Upon arrival, officers located a 40-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound and immediately administered first aid. EMS responded, however, the male succumbed to his injuries on scene.

On Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, the Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy and determined that Yakubu Usman Saibu, 40, died as a result of a gunshot wound. The manner of death is homicide.
