Pedestrian involved in train collision succumbs to her injuries

A 34-year-old female pedestrian struck by a train in southeast Edmonton Tuesday has succumbed to her injuries.

At approximately 7:25 a.m. yesterday, Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, the woman was walking westbound on a sidewalk in the neighbourhood of Tamarack, when she attempted to run across the CN railway tracks at Maple Road near 8 Street with a train coming.

The woman was subsequently struck by the front of the northbound train. The woman was treated and transported to hospital by paramedics in critical condition, where she died earlier today.
