In each case, a suspect posed as a buyer, met with the seller and claimed they were seeking an iPhone for their family member. They evaluated the item(s) for sale and then robbed the seller of the item, often using bear spray, uttering threats or presenting a knife. These robberies happened in the Richfield and Millbourne areas, and the suspects reportedly fled on foot.

On June, 11, 2026, police arrested two males in relation to these incidents. As they are youths, police are unable to release their identities. Both male youths face a combined total of seven charges, including robbery (x4), breach of probation (x2) and assault with a weapon.

This year, police have received approximately 26 reports related to iPhone-related incidents exclusively on Facebook Marketplace resulting in seven arrests.
