EPS North Division officers have charged three young males in connection with a pair of personal robberies that occurred at the Belvedere LRT station on Sunday, March 7th.

A search warrant was conducted by the Edmonton Drug and Gang Enforcement (EDGE) Unit with the assistance of Tactical Section at a southwest home on Thursday, March 4, resulting in the seizure of cocaine and cash, and the arrest of two people.
In 2009 there was an increase in reports of sexual offences. There was also an increase in the number of alcohol facilitated sexual assaults. This is where the victim and the offender have consumed alcohol prior to the incident. Superintendent Danielle Campbell of the EPS Criminal Investigations Division says, “People need to know that consent cannot be given freely if a person is intoxicated. The public also needs to know that less than 5 per cent of sexual assaults reported to the EPS in 2009 were committed by stranger predators. In fact, the vast majority of sexual assaults investigated last year were committed by someone the victim knew such as a family member, friend, spouse, coworker or an acquaintance.”
