Becoming a Police Officer

Working as a Civilian
Ever thought what it takes to run a police service? The Edmonton Police Service has over 500 non-sworn (or civilian) employees who help police officers behind the scenes every day. They are our unsung heroes and play a valuable role in keeping Edmonton a safe and friendly place to live. Visit the EPS job board to find a job that is right for you.
Volunteering
Since the early 1970’s volunteers have been an essential and integral part of the Edmonton Police Service (EPS). As a part of its mandate to be a community policing service our volunteers have worked alongside police members addressing community concerns, helping those who have been victimized by crime and developing programs that deter or prevent crime.
