Collisions in Edmonton continue to be a problem as the city grows and more and more people are driving. The Edmonton Police Service provides investigation for major collisions and Accident Support Services International provides reporting for insurance claims through Collision Reporting Centres. As of May 25, 2025, there have been 13 fatal collisions, 4 of which involved pedestrian deaths. There have been 3 motorcyclist fatalities.
At this time, 7 of the fatal collisions (53%) and 5 of the serious injury collisions (13%) involved speed as a factor. (Note: preliminary information - investigations are ongoing and this number may be updated.)
