DR. Jake Tremblay, Ph.D., R.PSYCH.

Jake is a Registered Psychologist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional who provides counselling, assessment, and consultation specializing in PTSD, trauma, workplace health and management issues. While offering services to the public for most general counselling concerns, his primary focus is working with police, first responders, and their allied team members. He also provides pre-employment suitability assessments for municipal, provincial, and federal law enforcement agencies with 18 years experience.

Using only psychological interventions that have been demonstrated in the research to be effective, Jake collaborates with each person to determine their preferred way of moving forward. When dealing with work injuries such as trauma events, he is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, EMDR, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy, to help resolve psychological injuries and enable clients to return to optimal functioning at home and work.

In addition to counselling, Jake has been an Adjunct Professor in Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta for the last 8 years, and provides clinical supervision to doctoral and masters students registering to become psychologists for 13 years. He served as Director of Clinical and Counselling Services at the UofA, as Vice President of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta, as manager of clinical services and the national addiction assessment program at a national EFAP company, and was a member of the national construction industry alcohol and drug policy development program. Recently, Jake has been dedicated to building a local resource team of psychologists at Mindspring Psychology Associates in the west end offering ethical, straightforward, and evidenced-based practice to central Alberta.
