On Saturday, December 18, 2004, witnesses observed a male person lying in Henrietta Muir Edwards Park, near 96A Street and 98A Avenue.

When the male did not move for some time, EMS was called. Josue was pronounced dead at the scene and police were called.

Josue was believed to have gang affiliations and his murder is believed to be drug and gang related.
