Students at St. Leo Catholic Elementary School received a special visit from Edmonton Police Service Recruit Class 156.
Twelve recruits volunteered to go to the school on their day off.
The recruits read stories, talked about internet safety, and even ran them through some physical activities.
“The goal was to foster positive relationships between students and future police officers,” said Christine Meadows, Communications Manager with Edmonton Catholic School District.
It was a fun day for everyone, and a chance for students to learn about the role police play in the community.
As one recruit put it: “We wanted to make an impact on the community very early on in our training.”
