Motorcycle vs. Car Collision
On June 9, 2025, at 4:30 p.m., police responded to a collision involving a motorcycle and a car in the area of 124 Avenue and 97 Street. The motorcyclist was transported to hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries. Police continue to investigate.
Injury collision
On June 10, 2025, at 11 p.m., police responded to a collision involving a motorcycle that slid off the road in the area of 97 Street and 167 Avenue. It was reported that two eastbound vehicles ran the red light, causing the motorcycle rider to react, lay down the motorcycle, slide off the road and hit some trees. The adult rider was transported by EMS to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police continue to investigate.
Commercial robbery
On June 16, 2025, at 9:15 p.m., police responded to a commercial robbery at a convenience store in the area of 99 Avenue and 104 Street. It was reported that two males and a female entered the store, and the female grabbed merchandise as one of the males openly held and displayed a canister of pepper spray while talking to the clerk. The three suspects left the store and were not apprehended. Police continue to investigate.
Possession of a concealed weapon
On June 19, 2025, at 7:30 a.m., police responded to Churchill LRT Station in the area of 99 Street and 102 Avenue. It was reported that peace officers saw a male sleeping in the station and noticed he had a firearm. Officers woke him up and seized the loaded firearm. Police continue to investigate.
Personal robbery/ Carjacking
On June 20, 2025, at approximately 9 p.m., police responded to a carjacking in the area of 117 Avenue and 87 Street. It was reported that a taxi driver had been assaulted with a rock and removed from his vehicle. The two accused then fled in the cab. The driver was transported to hospital by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries. The cab was later located by police outside of the city where it was involved in a collision. The two occupants were subsequently arrested and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police continue to investigate.
Personal robbery
On June 23, 2025, at 10:45 p.m., police responded to a personal robbery call on the LRT train at Stadium Station (111 Avenue and 84 Street). It was reported that a male passenger was approached by a group of four male suspects as he was preparing to exit. The group told the passenger that they were going to take his bike and then proceeded to assault and rob him. The group then exited the train and left the scene. Soon after, transit security notified police that a suspect from the robbery had returned to Stadium LRT Station. Police arrived and arrested him and a second suspect. Officers continue to investigate.
