Police continue to seek tips on 2020 death of child

December 6, 2024 marks the four-year anniversary of the tragic homicide of a two-year-old boy in southeast Edmonton.

At approximately 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 6, 2020 police responded to a residence in the area of 2 Avenue and 85 Street SW after it was reported that a two-year-old boy was found to be in medical distress. EMS treated and transported the boy to the Stollery Children’s Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

An autopsy was completed on Dec. 7, 2020. The manner of death was confirmed to be homicide. A cause of death was not released for investigative reasons.

“The murder of a child is an unimaginable tragedy,” says S/Sgt Rob Bilawey, with the EPS Homicide Section. “Homicide Detectives are working relentlessly to identify those responsible for this tragic murder, and we are asking anyone with information to come forward.”
