Police investigate collision involving EMS vehicle; EPS officer and citizen sustain injuries

On Sunday, April 21, 2024, at 2:04 a.m. Southwest Branch Patrol members located a female in medical distress in a parking lot in the area of 101 Street and 82 Avenue. Officers began administering first aid and requested EMS assistance. A few minutes later, an EMS SUV arrived at the scene, and while driving around the police patrol vehicle, the SUV ran over the female complainant and an officer who was providing medical assistance.

The officer and the 25-year-old female were both treated and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries by another responding EMS team. Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) continues to investigate.
