Police investigate early morning fatal pedestrian collision

Edmonton Police Service Major Collision Investigation Section (MCIS) officers are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred early this morning.

On Sunday, October 27, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee was travelling eastbound on 107 Avenue approaching 130 Street. At the same time, an 18-year-old female was crossing the street northbound at that intersection from the south curb. The pedestrian was struck by the Jeep and succumbed to her injuries on scene.

MCIS responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The 34-year-old female driver of the Jeep was charged with refusal after accident causing death and impaired operation causing death.
