Police investigating fatal single-vehicle collision

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that took place in west Edmonton.

Around 12:30 p.m., Friday, July 4, 2025, police were called to a collision involving a sedan and a hotel in the area of 109 Avenue and Mayfield Rd. A Chrysler Concord was in the parking lot when it reportedly collided with the corner of the building.

Edmonton Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) and EMS responded and treated the 53-year-old male driver; however, he succumbed to his injuries on scene. No other injuries were reported.

The EPS Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) continues to investigate.
