MRU #: TR25017

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a collision involving a truck and a cyclist on Monday afternoon.

Just after 4 p.m. on May 26, 2025, police responded to reports of a collision on Gateway Blvd and 63 Avenue. A 39-year-old man was riding his bicycle eastbound on 63 Avenue and attempted to turn left onto Gateway Blvd northbound. He was struck by a westbound GMC Sierra 3500, travelling westbound on the green light.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he was later pronounced deceased. The 60-year-old male driver of the truck was not injured.

Neither speed nor impairment are considered factors on the part of the truck driver and the Major Collision Investigation Section (MCIS) continues to investigate.
