On Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2025, at approximately 8:49 p.m. Southwest Branch Patrol responded to the report of multiple gunshots in the area of 41 Avenue S.W. and Chappelle Road.
When police arrived, a male was located in the driver’s seat of a vehicle outside of a residence. EMS attended and declared the male deceased on scene.
On Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, the Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy and determined that Jose Cruz Gonzalez Aceves, 45, died as a result of a gunshot wound and the manner of death is homicide.
