For Immediate Release: 18-Sep-2024 @ 9:38 AM
MRU #: TR24R038

The Edmonton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in relation to a hit-and-run collision which occurred late last week.

On Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, at approximately 10:45 a.m., a semi-truck was parked on the shoulder of the southbound lanes of Anthony Henday Drive, just prior to the Cameron Heights exit ramp. At the same time, a U-Haul truck was travelling southbound pulling a boat when the boat trailer became detached from the U-Haul causing the boat and trailer to strike the rear of the parked semi-truck. The collision caused extensive damage. The U-Haul did not stop and fled the scene. The police investigation revealed that the boat and trailer were stolen.

“We are asking for anyone with information about this hit-and-run collision to contact police at their earliest convenience,” says Const. Nicole Hetman. “Specifically, we are also looking for any dash camera footage from motorists who may have captured the collision.”

Investigators are asking anyone with information or dash camera footage from the time of the collision to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250.
