Police investigating suspicious death in northeast Edmonton; seek camera footage

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is investigating a suspicious death that took place in northeast Edmonton yesterday evening.

On Friday, Feb. 21, 2025, at approximately 8:40 p.m. Northeast Branch Patrol responded to the report of an assault at a townhouse complex in the area of Homestead Crescent and Hooke Road.

When police arrived, a female with gunshot wounds was located. EMS attended and declared the female deceased on scene.

Homicide Section has since taken over the investigation. An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 25,2025.

The EPS is asking residents of the Overlanders neighbourhood with dash camera or home security camera footage between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, 2025, to please contact them. Likewise, police are asking members of the public who may have witnessed the shooting or observed suspicious activity in the neighbourhood to please come forward.
