Major Collision officers investigate injury collision

Edmonton Police Service Major Collision Investigation Section (MCIS) officers are investigating a serious collision that occurred late this afternoon in Southwest Edmonton.

On Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., a Subaru Forester was travelling eastbound on 23 Avenue turning north onto 119 Street. At the same time, a Dodge Caravan travelling westbound on 23 Avenue struck the Subaru on the passenger side in the intersection. The force of the collision caused the Subaru to roll onto its driver’s side, and slide into a Ford Edge that was stopped at the traffic light. The adult male driver of Subaru was transported to hospital by EMS for precautionary reasons, and the adult female passenger of the Subaru was transported to hospital by EMS with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The occupants of the other vehicles were uninjured.

MCIS continues to investigate.
