Police arrest three repeat property crime and firearm offenders

For Immediate Release: 03-Jul-2025 @ 1:30 PM
MRU #: 25R045

Thanks to a cross agency and internal collaboration between multiple EPS units, police apprehended three suspects and recovered two stolen vehicles in one evening last week.

On June 25, 2025, EPS Targeted Response to Auto Theft Prevention (TRAP) team located a stolen Cadillac Escalade parked at a residence in the area of 90 Street and 134 Avenue. At approximately 9:30 p.m., two individuals entered the stolen vehicle and drove away. Police followed at a safe distance. Soon after, the stolen Cadillac Escalade met a KIA Sportage in a nearby alley. Police noted that the KIA was also reported stolen, and was the same vehicle reportedly used in a personal robbery involving a firearm earlier in the evening.

EPS TRAP, Air1 and the Canine Unit continued to monitor both vehicles through the city unit they eventually left Edmonton, at which point the RCMP Real Time Operations Centre (RTOC), and Redwater detachment joined the investigation.

Upon noticing police, the driver of the KIA was seen discarding a shotgun out of the driver's window before exiting the KIA and entering the Cadillac Escalade. The shotgun was later determined to have been used in the personal robbery.

After a short pursuit, EPS Tactical Units successfully apprehended all three occupants when the Cadillac became lodged in a bog near Lily Lake, Alberta.

Dylan Brazeau, 22, driver of the stolen Cadillac, has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5000, operating a motor vehicle while prohibited, breaching conditions of release (x3), and failure to comply with probation orders.

Star Lee Rose Breland, 22, was charged with: possession of stolen property over $5000 and breaching conditions of release (x2)

Collin Ray McDonald, 33, driver of the stolen KIA, is facing 14 charges including robbery with a firearm, possession of stolen property over $5000, and breaching numerous conditions.

All three accused are known to police.

“Through the combined efforts of several EPS units and the RCMP, investigators were able to identify suspects linked to multiple offences and recover stolen property,” said Staff Sergeant Travis Kerr with EPS TRAP, “This investigation demonstrates how coordinated police work across agencies can lead to meaningful results and help keep our communities safe."
